What it was like
Torrey Pines is one of the last wild coastal bluffs in Southern California — the rarest pine tree in North America grows here, the cliffs drop into the Pacific, and on a clear morning the Channel Islands are visible from the ridge. April 26 guided nature walk with a docent from the Torrey Pines Association. Two hours, free with park entry. This is San Diego before the freeways.
