About

The 87th summer season at Del Mar opens July 17 and runs through Labor Day weekend, September 7 — 32 days of thoroughbred racing where the turf meets the surf. The Opening Day hat tradition, the infield lawn, the Pacific fog burning off by the second race. The Pacific Classic in late August draws the best horses on the West Coast. One hour from Murrieta. If you've never been to Del Mar, this season is the reason. Dates and tickets at dmtc.com.

In 10 days · Jun 3 Coast Hwy & Pier View Way, Oceansi…

Oceanside's Sunset Market transforms the corner of Coast Highway and Pier View Way into a vibrant outdoor marketplace every Thursday evening from 5pm to 9pm. With the Pacific Ocean just steps away, the market draws a mix of locals, surfers, beach-town regulars, and visitors who discover one of Southern California's most beloved weekly gatherings. The market features 100 or more vendors spanning handcrafted jewelry and accessories, locally made candles and bath goods, vintage clothing, artwork and prints, photography, home decor, and specialty food vendors ranging from gourmet tacos to handmade ice cream. Live music, usually acoustic or folk, provides the soundtrack for an evening of browsing and casual connection. Families, couples, and solo wanderers all find their pace here. The crowd peaks around sunset when the light off the water turns everything golden and the smell of food vendors mixes with salt air. Summer editions benefit from longer days and the full activation of Oceanside's beach season. The Sunset Market runs every Thursday year-round. No admission fee. Street parking available on Coast Highway and side streets. The Sprinter rail Crouch St stop is two blocks from the market. Schedule: Every Thursday, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Rady Shell at Jacobs Park — 2026 Summer Season
In 12 days · Jun 5 – Sep 30 Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, 222 Mar…

The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park opens its 2026 summer season in June with the San Diego Symphony performing under the open sky at 222 Marina Park Way — performances running through September at San Diego's most beautiful outdoor venue, right on the waterfront. The Shell was purpose-built for this experience. You arrive before the music starts, the bay is in front of you, the city skyline is over your left shoulder, the sun going down over the Pacific. By the time the orchestra plays the first note, the setting has already done most of the work. The San Diego Symphony performs here across the full summer — classical programs, film scores, pops nights, and headline collaborations with artists the symphony circuit doesn't usually bring to San Diego. Tickets vary by program at theshell.org — single performances available throughout the season. The lawn section is the most social option; reserved seating gives you the full view. Bring something to sit on for lawn nights. The waterfront breeze arrives in the evening regardless of the afternoon heat. This is the outdoor concert experience in San Diego. Everything else is a substitute.

Dolby Theatre, 6801 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA. June 5th, 2026. Summer Game Fest takes the building where the Oscars happen and fills it with the games industry's mid-year announcement moment. Every major publisher and many independent studios use this event to release trailers, gameplay reveals, and release date announcements to a room that is simultaneously the most attentive gaming audience in the world. SGF is where the E3-shaped hole in the gaming calendar now lives. The show streams globally, but the audience in the Dolby Theatre experiences the announcements before the internet processes them — the reactions happen in real time, with the people around you, before the takes arrive. A trailer reveal in that room is the announcement, not the broadcast of it. If you're in the industry, this is the room where the year's games landscape becomes visible. If you follow gaming closely, attending in person is the experience that the stream approximates but doesn't replicate. summergamefest.com for registration options and the associated public events that run throughout the June 5th-6th window in Hollywood. San Diego Symphony — Summer Pops at The Rady Shell 2026
In 12 days · Jun 5 – Sep 19 The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, 222…

The San Diego Symphony's Summer Pops season at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park brings world-class orchestral music to the San Diego waterfront for a series of outdoor concerts running June through September 2026. The Rady Shell — an acoustically engineered open-air performance venue on the waterfront at Jacobs Park — provides a stunning setting for the Symphony's summer season with San Diego Bay visible beyond the audience. The Summer Pops programming spans the full range from classical masterworks to pops concerts featuring Broadway music, film scores, jazz, and popular artists performing with orchestral accompaniment. The variety makes the summer season accessible to audiences who aren't regular classical concertgoers while delivering the full orchestral experience that the Symphony's musician quality supports. The Rady Shell's outdoor format is distinctly family-friendly — picnic blankets, lawn chairs, and the relaxed atmosphere of the waterfront park contrast with the formality of indoor concert halls. The adjacent Jacobs Park lawn allows families to spread out while the children remain within range of the music. Food and wine are available from vendors on-site. The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is located at 222 Park Blvd in downtown San Diego, walkable from the Embarcadero and accessible via MTS Trolley (Convention Center station). Parking in the downtown convention center structures. Individual concert tickets and season subscriptions available through the San Diego Symphony website.

Griffith Park Disc Golf — Summer Series 2026 Coming Soon 12 days away
Griffith Park Disc Golf — Summer Series 2026
In 13 days · Jun 6 – Aug 29 Griffith Park, 4730 Crystal Spring…

The Griffith Park Disc Golf Summer Series runs informal and PDGA-sanctioned competitive rounds on the Griffith Park Disc Golf Course throughout the summer months, one of the most scenically situated disc golf venues in California. The course runs through the hills of Griffith Park with views toward downtown Los Angeles, the Hollywood Sign, and the surrounding Santa Monica Mountains. The Griffith Park disc golf course is a 9-hole layout on the Ranger Station side of the park with varying terrain, tree-lined fairways, and elevation changes that make it considerably more challenging than flat-ground courses. The summer series draws the consistent Griffith Park playing community — regulars who play the course multiple times per week throughout the season — alongside competitors from the broader LA disc golf circuit. The series format varies by event: some rounds are casual group play with scorecards, others are PDGA-sanctioned B or C-tier events with formal registration and rating implications. The series coordinator posts specific formats and dates through the Los Angeles Disc Golf Club social channels. Griffith Park's disc golf course is accessible from Griffith Park's east entrance on Riverside Drive. Parking in the surrounding Griffith Park lots. The course is free to play outside of tournament registration fees for sanctioned events. All skill levels welcome for casual rounds; competitive rounds have entry fees and division structures.

DESERT SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL - A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S

128 S. Palm Canyon Dr., Plaza Theatre, Palm Springs. The Desert Shakespeare Festival brings A Midsummer Night's Dream to Palm Springs in June — and the coincidence of Shakespeare's most enchanted play landing in a desert city at the peak of its warmest season is not lost on anyone in the room. The Plaza Theatre is a 1936 Spanish Colonial Revival venue that handles theatrical productions with the weight of a building built for exactly this. The acoustics work. The sightlines earn the architecture. A Midsummer Night's Dream in this room — the fairies, the lovers, the donkey, the mechanicals and their play within a play — reads as the kind of theatrical experience that reminds you why live performance exists when a screen approximation doesn't. Shakespeare in June in Palm Springs means the Plaza handles the climate so you don't have to think about it. The play is funny, and it is funnier in a room of people laughing together than it is on any page. Tickets at ticketmaster.com — the Festival brings professional production values to one of the most frequently performed plays in the Western canon, which means the baseline is high before the curtain goes up. Lock your seats before the summer dates fill.
