DESCRIPTION:The Pasadena Convention Center\, September 18-20\, 2026. The Golden State Tattoo Expo brings several hundred artists from across the country to one floor — flash and custom work\, traditional and neo-traditional and realism and Japanese and styles that resist category — and the three days it runs are the closest thing to a museum of living tattooing that California produces.\n\nThe expo floor rewards time. The artists with the longest waitlists are here in person\, with open books\, taking consultations at booths that don't require a months-long application process. The artists you haven't discovered yet are two aisles over. Walking the floor slowly\, watching work in progress\, talking to artists about technique and influence and what they're currently exploring — that is the event\, not just the booths.\n\nIf you've been sitting on a piece\, this is the weekend to move on it. If you're not getting tattooed\, the level of work on display is worth seeing as craft.
