DESCRIPTION:You could spend a fortune renting a location that looks like a fantasy set\, or you could show up in costume at Balboa Park on a Saturday morning and let the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture do it for free. That's the whole trick of this shoot. The park is the setting that does the work: the facades\, the fountains\, the museum courtyards\, the garden paths - any of them reads as a fantasy environment no matter what you're cosplaying. A mech suit against the Museum of Man's exterior photographs like nothing you could build in a studio. A soft fantasy costume against the Botanical Building's lily pond catches light you can't plan for. Any fandom\, any build level\, all welcome. Photographers\, bring your gear - the park accommodates it. Cosplayers shooting solo find each other. The morning light is best before the park fills\, so arriving early rewards you in every way.
