La Jolla First Friday Art Walk 2026 — Monthly
In 6 days · Jul 3 Free 920 Kline St, La Jolla, CA 92037

They believed La Jolla's gallery corridor should come alive all at once — once a month, on a Friday evening when the light from the Pacific makes everything on the walls look better than it is. The La Jolla First Friday Art Walk happens on the first Friday of every month from 4 to 7 PM across the galleries and studios of downtown La Jolla. The format is self-guided — you pick the route, set the pace, and let what you're looking at determine how long you stay. Galleries serve wine and light snacks. The Thumbprint Gallery on Kline Street is the unofficial anchor of the walk. More than 400 people attend each month, which is enough to create the feeling of a neighborhood turning out for itself. The monthly theme changes — sometimes ocean-focused, sometimes seasonal — but the character of the walk is consistent: a relaxed, self-directed evening that ends whenever you decide it does. Free admission. Evening parking is available on most La Jolla streets. The walk is short enough to complete in an hour, long enough to fill an evening. Monthly — first Friday, 4–7 PM. Thumbprint Gallery, 920 Kline St, La Jolla, CA 92037.

Abbot Kinney First Fridays — July 2026
In 6 days · Jul 3 Free Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, Los Ang…

Abbot Kinney First Fridays runs the first Friday of every month from 5 to 10 PM on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, Los Angeles. The street transforms into a pedestrian-friendly outdoor market and block party with all the boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops extended open late alongside food trucks and live street performances. Abbot Kinney is one of the few streets in LA that has maintained a genuine neighborhood identity through decades of gentrification pressure — independent retailers, working artists, local restaurants, and design studios have anchored the block since the 1980s. First Fridays is the moment when the community that sustains those businesses shows up together. The energy is different from a festival. There is no main stage and no single sponsor. Just a few hundred people moving between shops, plates of food from local trucks, and occasional live music spilling out of storefronts. It is LA neighborhood culture at its most accessible. Street parking fills early. Metro Expo Line to 26th/Bergamot and a short rideshare, or park in the surrounding Venice residential streets and walk in. The event is free.

Abbot Kinney First Fridays — Venice
In 6 days · Jul 3 Free Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, Los Ang…

They believed Abbot Kinney Boulevard had enough soul to be a destination on its own — and that giving it a designated first Friday every month would let it be exactly that without further explanation. First Fridays has held that position since the neighborhood decided to make it official. The boulevard goes from a shopping street to a street festival every first Friday from 5 to 10pm. Galleries stay open late. Independent merchants put things on the sidewalk and lean into the foot traffic. Food trucks park where they make sense. Street performers show up because the crowd is there and the crowd is good. The mix changes month to month because the vendors and performers rotate, but the character of the boulevard doesn't: Venice stays Venice, and First Fridays is what it looks like when the neighborhood leans all the way into that. No tickets. No wristbands. You show up on Abbot Kinney between Dell and Broadway and spend an evening in a neighborhood that knows exactly what it is. Free. Every first Friday of the month, 5–10 PM. Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice (Los Angeles).

Long Beach Retro Row First Fridays — 4th Street Arts & Culture
In 6 days · Jul 3 – Jul 4 Free 4th St, Long Beach, CA 90814

4th Street in Long Beach has a specific density of vintage shops, record stores, and independent businesses that earned its Retro Row identity honestly. First Fridays is when the street acknowledges what it already is. Galleries open. Shops stay late. The record stores run listening stations in the doorways. The bars and restaurants set up outside. The crowd that moves through it is exactly the mix the neighborhood has built over thirty years: Long Beach residents, vinyl collectors from the 562, people who drive down from LA because nothing in Silver Lake has quite this specific configuration. 4th Street, Long Beach, CA 90814. Free to attend. Monthly, first Friday of each month, late afternoon through evening.

Point Loma Summer Concerts 2026 — Fridays at the Park
In 13 days · Jul 10 Free Point Loma Park, 1049 Catalina Blv…

They believed a neighborhood could sustain its music programs if it came together at the park every Friday evening. Twenty-six years later, the Point Loma Summer Concert Series is still going — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose ticket and sponsorship revenue funds music education in Point Loma schools. The series runs five consecutive Fridays from July 10 through August 7 at Point Loma Park on Catalina Boulevard. Each evening features two sets: a junior stage opening at 5:30 PM and a main stage at 6:30 PM. The lineup changes every week — cover acts, tribute bands, local originals — and the crowd ranges from parents with strollers to longtime residents who haven't missed a summer in a decade. The experience is deliberately low-key. Lawn chairs and blankets encouraged. Food and drink available nearby. No tickets required at the gate — it's free to attend, though donations support the schools program. What makes it worth seeking out isn't the production scale. It's the fact that it still happens here, in this neighborhood, because the neighborhood decided it should. Every Friday July 10–August 7. Point Loma Park, 1049 Catalina Blvd.

You found your people.

They didn't know each other before Falkor either.
