What it was like
A fan community day trip to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland on May 30. Build your own lightsaber at Savi's Workshop, fly the Millennium Falcon on Smugglers Run, ride Rise of the Resistance, and drink blue milk at Oga's Cantina — a place designed by people who care as much about the source material as you do.
Galaxy's Edge is the most immersive theme park land ever built: every sign is in Aurebesh, every cast member conversation is in-universe, and you can spend thirty minutes just reading the environmental storytelling before you queue for anything. This is fandom made physical.
Fan groups are carpooling from San Diego — DM the organizer through the event page to join the convoy or coordinate your arrival time. Disneyland is about 90 minutes from downtown San Diego. Galaxy's Edge is walkable from the main entrance through Tomorrowland. Lightsaber building requires a separate reservation — book through the Disneyland app well before the event. Theme park admission required. Best on a weekday or with early entry. The group meets at the Millennium Falcon before splitting for individual queue strategies.
