Anime Matsuri has been that for nearly two decades — the show that the Gulf Coast community builds its summer calendar around.\n\nJuly 23-26\, 2026 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. 30\,000+ attendees across four days: panels\, industry guests\, cosplay competition\, artist alley\, the full convention format that the regional circuit runs on.\n\nThe guest roster runs international — Japanese voice actors\, manga artists\, and the English-language dubbing industry both appear in force. The cosplay competition is one of the most competitive in the South. The artist alley supports a significant community of independent creators.\n\nHouston's anime community is one of the largest in the South\, which gives Anime Matsuri a hometown energy that national touring conventions can't replicate.\n\nGeorge R.
