SUMMARY:Olvera Street Día de los Muertos 2026
DESCRIPTION:Los Angeles began on this ground in 1781\, and once a year the oldest street in the city fills with altars for people who are not here anymore.\n\nEach ofrenda is a specific person. A photograph\, the food they liked\, the flowers\, the small object nobody outside the family would recognize as meaningful. Some are quiet and family-sized. Some are full artistic installations built for a public that will never learn the name at the center of them. You end up walking slowly whether you meant to or not. Aztec dancers work the length of the street\, mariachi and folklórico fill the little plaza\, and artisans sell papel picado and calavera art from the same stalls that stand there every other day of the year.\n\nFree\, at Olvera Street beside Union Station\, where nearly every Metro line meets.\n\nGo\, and bring the name of someone you have not said out loud in a while. That is all it asks of you.
