DESCRIPTION:The desert gets cold at night in a way that surprises everyone the first time\, and by two in the morning half the campground is wearing every layer they packed and refusing to go to sleep anyway. That is the part regulars talk about afterward. Not the headliners. The nights. Once a year the country music community from across the Western states drives out to Indio\, and the Empire Polo Club becomes a small temporary city with the Mane Stage at one end and the Palomino carrying the artists you will later claim you found early. The lineup is deliberately wide: traditional country\, Texas country\, outlaw\, country-rap crossovers\, Western folk. The crowd reflects that\, and it runs warmer than any rock or pop festival audience of the same size\, which nobody believes until they are standing in it. Camp on site or shuttle in from the valley towns. Send it to the friend who has been threatening to go for years and still has not.
