DESCRIPTION:The Pokemon World Series of tournaments brings a Regional Championship to the Los Angeles area in January 2027\, one of the premier competitive Pokemon events on the organized play calendar for the Pokemon Trading Card Game and Pokemon Video Game Championships.\n\nRegional Championships are the third tier of organized Pokemon play\, below Internationals and Worlds but significantly above local and League Cup events. They draw serious competitors from throughout the Western United States and occasionally from other regions chasing championship points for the World Championship qualification window.\n\nThe VGC (Video Game Championship) side features doubles battles with the current format's regulations — typically the most recent Pokemon generation with specific ban lists that shift each season. The TCG side features the current Standard rotation. Both formats require deep knowledge of the meta\, deck or team optimization\, and the ability to play consistently across 8+ rounds of Swiss before top cut.\n\nAlongside the competitive events\, Regional Championships run side events throughout the weekend — Age of Ultron sealed\, draft events\, prerelease formats\, and the merchandise vendor area that draws collectors and players equally.
