The garden was designed by Dr. Koichi Kawana\, the same landscape architect responsible for the Japanese Garden at the Missouri Botanical Garden and Huntington Library.\n\nEvening events at the Japanese Garden are limited-capacity by design — the intimate nature of the garden means the experience degrades above a certain attendance number\, and the organizers maintain the integrity of the visit.
