About

Outfest Los Angeles is the world's largest LGBTQ film festival and one of the most significant film events in Southern California, running for 11 days each July at multiple venues throughout Los Angeles. The 2026 festival presents over 200 films — features, documentaries, and shorts — across venues including the DGA Theatre, the Ford Theatres, and satellite screening locations throughout the city.

Outfest is the platform where LGBTQ filmmakers gain access to the Hollywood industry and where queer stories find their audiences before distribution deals are signed. The festival's track record for launching careers and identifying films that go on to theatrical distribution and awards recognition is among the strongest of any specialized festival in the country.

The programming covers the full spectrum of LGBTQ stories with no mandate toward any particular tone or subject matter — horror films, romantic comedies, political documentaries, experimental shorts, animated features, and epic dramas share the programming slate. The only organizing principle is perspective: these are films made by or substantially about LGBTQ experience.

The DGA Theatre complex at 7920 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood is the primary Outfest venue. Additional screenings at the Ford Theatres in Hollywood Hills, the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, and partner venues throughout the city. Full festival passes, individual film tickets, and Opening/Closing Night Gala tickets available through the Outfest website. The Opening Night Gala at the DGA is the social centerpiece of the festival for the LA entertainment industry.
