People who will never run it come stand inside a street festival that happens to have runners in it\, through downtown\, Mission Hills\, Old Town\, and the beach neighborhoods\, out to a finish on the waterfront. San Diego is where this format started back in 1998\, and the city still treats it as its own invention.\n\nThe half and the 5K share the weekend\, spectating costs nothing\, and entry fills fast. Go run it\, or go stand at mile twenty and hand a stranger their second wind.
