DESCRIPTION:There is a cultural identity that stretches across West Africa\, the Caribbean\, Central America\, and South America\, and it almost never gets a room of its own on LA's crowded event calendar - so a community built one\, and it is completely free. The 4th Annual Afro-Latino Culture Fest is a celebration of that diaspora: live Afrobeats\, cumbia\, and reggaeton\; cultural dance showcases\; interactive art installations\; panel discussions on Afro-Latino identity\; and a vendor marketplace of Afro-Latino artisans and entrepreneurs. The food runs the full spectrum - plantains alongside jerk chicken alongside tamales. This is the kind of event that exists because a community built it\, not because a promoter spotted a gap in the market\, and that difference shows in the room. The setting helps: LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes\, a beautifully restored 1920s building with open courtyard space\, sits directly across from Union Station - one of the most transit-accessible venues in all of Southern California\, with the Red\, Purple\, and Gold lines all stopping there and the Gold Line running straight from Pasadena. Driving\, there is street parking and several lots along Main Street and Alameda. Saturday\, August 1\, 2026\, from 4 PM to 10 PM. Free.
