DESCRIPTION:String lights over a stone piazza\, the bay a block away\, and a referee who knows every fighter in the building by their first name — that is the version of this sport nobody televises\, and the argument that it was always the better one.\n\nTwelve amateur bouts\, three rounds each\, in the open air in Little Italy. The first row is somebody's mother. The corner advice is audible from the back. Local fighters come in from across Southern California\, and the crowd is a mix of neighborhood regulars\, boxing families\, and people who wandered over on a nice evening and physically could not leave.\n\nIt is a charity night honoring the promoter Bobby 'Suitcase' Delgado\, and everything raised goes to Washington Elementary and the Bobby D. Foundation's youth program.\n\nBring the friend who insists they hate boxing. They will be standing by the fourth round.
