DESCRIPTION:The International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation believes the mat is a meritocracy — and this tournament is where that belief becomes observable.\n\nThe IBJJF Los Angeles Summer International Open brings hundreds of competitors from across Southern California and beyond to the Los Angeles Convention Center for two days of sanctioned gi competition. Divisions span all belt levels\, ages\, and weight classes. On any given Saturday\, the competitor who trained in a Fontana garage is rolling against someone from one of the most decorated academies in West Hollywood. The belt is the only credential that matters once the timer starts.\n\nSpectators enter free. There is no badge required\, no pre-registration. You walk into South Hall J and find a mat. The room sounds like a gym — quiet focused intensity interrupted by the tap of a submission — and then the next match begins.\n\nIf you have trained for any amount of time and want to understand what competitive BJJ looks like when it's taken seriously\, this is the room that shows you. The competitors know exactly where they stand in their weight class. Everyone in the building knows exactly why they're there.\n\nHeld July 11–12\, 2026.
