The monthly art crawl treats that context not as backdrop but as the point.\n\nOn art crawl nights\, Logan Avenue activates. Galleries and studios open extended hours. Artists who work in the neighborhood are in their spaces. The food comes from the community. The crowd is mixed: longtime residents who remember when the murals were being painted\, and people who found the neighborhood through social media and are arriving for the first time. Neither group is wrong to be there.\n\nWhat the art crawl makes visible is that Barrio Logan has been a working creative community for fifty years\, independent of any art district designation from outside.
