DESCRIPTION:Sawtelle Japantown is one of the oldest Japanese American neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The West Los Angeles Buddhist Temple has been at the center of that community since its founding\, and the Obon festival it runs every July is the neighborhood at its most itself.\n\nBon odori on the temple grounds\, taiko performances\, Japanese food from the community booths. The circle is open to anyone. The festival is free. The Sawtelle corridor outside turns into something that does not exist in the same form anywhere else in the city on these two days.\n\nJuly 25 and 26 at 2003 Corinth Ave\, West Los Angeles. The temple is walkable from Sawtelle Blvd and its ramen and Japanese grocery stores. Come early for the food lines.
