DESCRIPTION:The first four notes of Hedwig's Theme have never failed to do the thing they do - and hearing them played by a full orchestra\, in real time\, while the film runs on a screen above the water\, is a different order of the feeling entirely. This is not a concert with some Harry Potter branding stapled on\; the San Diego Symphony performs John Williams' complete score for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone live\, synchronized to the movie\, every scene he scored - the quidditch match\, the troll in the dungeon\, the final confrontation. It plays three nights at the Rady Shell\, the waterfront amphitheatre on the Embarcadero\, with the San Diego skyline behind the stage.
