The 17th Annual Brazilian Festival takes over Waterfront Park in San Diego on August 29\, 2026 — ten hours of samba\, live music\, capoeira\, and the kind of food that makes you wonder why you ever ate anything else.\n\nThis is not a sampler platter of Brazilian culture with a gift shop attached. It is the real thing — Latin Grammy nominee Paula Lima headlines alongside Negritude Junior (gold and platinum recording artists)\, Vitin (former lead singer of Onze:20)\, and Forromeno. The carnival parade weaves through the crowd while capoeira performers turn physics into an argument nobody wins.\n\nThe Brazilian community in San Diego has been throwing this festival for seventeen years because the music does not translate — you have to be standing in it.
