SUMMARY:The Black Heart Procession at Casbah
DESCRIPTION:Some bands belong to a city the way fog belongs to a coastline. The Black Heart Procession — Pall Jenkins and Toby Nathaniel's mournful\, piano-and-singing-saw slowcore — is San Diego's\, and has been since the late-90s underground when they and Three Mile Pilot quietly defined what this town sounded like after midnight. They don't play often. When they do it at the Casbah — the little Kettner Boulevard room where half the city's music history actually happened — it isn't a concert so much as a reunion of everyone who was there and everyone who wishes they had been. The songs are heavy and slow and beautiful\, the kind you feel behind your sternum. The San Diego indie lifers still have the 7-inches in a milk crate somewhere\; the newcomers are about to learn why this band matters so much to this particular town. 21+. Doors 7:30pm\, show 8:30pm. August 15\, 2026\, Casbah\, 2501 Kettner Blvd\, San Diego.
