DESCRIPTION:The first four notes of the Star Wars theme can make a grown adult cry in a grocery store — now imagine hearing them performed live by the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the open sky of the Hollywood Bowl\, with film clips projected above the orchestra and 17\,000 people who all have the same goosebumps.\n\nMaestro of the Movies returns to the Hollywood Bowl September 4–6\, 2026\, with David Newman conducting the LA Phil through the iconic film scores of John Williams — Star Wars\, E.T.\, Indiana Jones\, Jaws\, Harry Potter\, Jurassic Park\, and more. Each performance runs at 8:00 PM (7:30 PM Sunday)\, and the program pairs the full orchestral arrangements with movie clips on the Bowl's massive screen\, creating the rare experience where you hear the music the way it was always meant to sound: live\, enormous\, and resonating through your chest.\n\nThe Hollywood Bowl itself is half the experience. Picnic boxes\, wine\, and the ritual of finding your seat as the sun sets behind the hills — this is the venue where Los Angeles does its best communal thing. John Williams may not conduct in person anymore\, but his music doesn't need him standing there to reduce a stadium to tears. It does that on its own.\n\nTickets start at $54 and are available through the Hollywood Bowl box office and AXS. Three nights means three chances to get in\, and the Sunday show is historically the easiest ticket.
