DESCRIPTION:Friday night of Comic-Con week\, when the convention center locks its doors and the Gaslamp fills with people who still have energy to burn\, a night market opens at UC San Diego Park & Market that exists for the people who came to San Diego because they love games\, not just the ones on screens. Dice Goblins is a tabletop gaming night market where the vendor tables sell handmade dice sets\, custom miniatures\, indie RPG zines\, and the kind of leather-bound journals that make you want to start a campaign just so you have somewhere to write.\n\nMAVERiC Studio hosts this as a free event that does not require a Comic-Con badge. The format is part night market\, part gaming lounge. Tables are set up for pickup games. Indie game designers demo unreleased titles. The dice merchants are there because they know that Comic-Con week concentrates more tabletop gamers per square mile than any other week in any other city\, and they are right. The crowd is a mix of D&D lifers\, Pathfinder converts\, miniature painters who brought their work\, and people who have never rolled a d20 but are about to.\n\nDoors open at 5:00 PM and run until 11:30 PM. The location at Park & Market puts it close enough to the Gaslamp that you can walk from the convention center but far enough that the vibe is its own thing. Free entry. No badge. Just tabletop culture\, after dark\, during the week when that culture peaks.
