Six blocks of West Date Street close to cars every Saturday and fill instead with strawberries still warm from the truck\, a guy who only sells wild mushrooms\, a woman whose focaccia sells out by eleven\, and the low weekend hum of a few thousand people in absolutely no hurry. This is the ritual that quietly anchors a San Diego weekend for the people who live downtown: not a chore\, a lap. You come for tomatoes and leave two hours later carrying flowers\, a cold brew\, a wheel of cheese\, and plans you didn't have when you arrived. The regulars know exactly which vendor to hit first before the good stuff is gone. Bring a tote and no agenda at all. It runs every Saturday morning down West Date Street in Little Italy.
