DESCRIPTION:The guitarist is dressed as Arcee. The drummer is Bumblebee. Every member of The Cybertronic Spree performs in full Transformer armor\, and somehow the most surprising thing about the whole spectacle is that the playing is genuinely\, unreasonably good.\n\nThis is a touring band that performs the entire 1986 Transformers: The Movie soundtrack live. The one with “The Touch” by Stan Bush. The one with “Dare” and the Weird Al track and the Vince DiCola score that made you cry when Optimus Prime died. They play all of it\, in full robot regalia\, with the energy of a metal band that happens to love Saturday morning cartoons.\n\nBrick by Brick is the right room for this. Two hundred capacity\, San Diego’s grimy little jewel box for loud music and weird bills. Doors at 7pm\, show at 8pm on August 12. This is a Wednesday night. You will have to explain to your boss why you’re tired on Thursday. The explanation will be worth it.\n\nIf you grew up rewinding that VHS tape\, or if you’ve ever air-guitared to “The Touch” in your car\, this is the show you didn’t know existed.
