DESCRIPTION:Saturday nights in Little Italy belong to a different century. The amphitheatre at Amici Park fills with people who brought their own blankets and a bottle of something red\, and the screen shows Italian films with English subtitles — the kind of movies that make you feel like you lived somewhere else for two hours. Cinema Little Italy has been doing this quietly for years\, turning a small park between West Date and State Streets into an open-air cinema that smells like garlic and jasmine from the surrounding restaurants. The films rotate weekly: neorealism one Saturday\, comedy the next\, always something you would never have found on your own. Bring a picnic\, bring a jacket (the marine layer arrives around the third act)\, and bring someone who will argue about the ending on the walk home. Free admission. Every Saturday evening from June through September at Amici Park Amphitheater in the heart of Little Italy.
