DESCRIPTION:Someone has turned the road into a gallery. Art on Ocean shuts down Ocean Avenue beside Palisades Park and fills it with more than 100 artists — painters hauling easels past crosswalks\, ceramicists whose work you can hold and turn in the salt air\, jewelers and sculptors and photographers who all decided to show up on the same Saturday in August. Kids paint at open studios run by Paint Lab\, with free art workshops for all ages. Food trucks line the sidewalk — Blue Plate Taco\, Triple Beam Pizza\, Ubatuba Açaí. A wine garden materializes beside the bluff. Then\, as the light drops\, a movie screen goes up in the park and the whole avenue watches a film under the trees. It's free. It's all-ages. It's the kind of afternoon you don't plan — you stumble into it because someone texted you a photo of an oil painting propped against a palm tree\, and you drove there before you knew what you were doing.
