DESCRIPTION:Writing code in front of an audience should be unbearable to watch and somehow is not. The screen is projected\, the syntax errors happen in public\, and the music is being built out of typed instructions while the room waits.\n\nDJ_Dave performs live-coded music — the set is literally written on stage\, line by line\, and every change you hear corresponds to a change you can read. It comes out of the algorave scene\, a small international community of people who decided the laptop should be transparent rather than hidden. The result is danceable and slightly nerve-wracking\; you find yourself rooting for the performer in a way that never happens at a normal DJ set.\n\nA Thursday at the Wilshire theatre\, doors at eight. Get there early enough to read the screen.
