SUMMARY:Madison on Park Jazz Nights — Live Jazz Tuesdays Through Thursdays\, San Diego
DESCRIPTION:The saxophone starts at quarter to six and nobody checks their phone until the set is over. Not because anyone asked them to stop — because somewhere between the first note and the appetizer arriving\, they forgot to look.\n\nMadison on Park runs live jazz every Tuesday\, Wednesday\, and Thursday evening with John Reynolds and a rotating cast of Southern California's finest. The music comes through a real sound system in a real room with Mediterranean food on the table and craft cocktails at the bar\, and it turns a weeknight dinner into the kind of evening people describe the next morning as one you should have been at.\n\nThe sets run 5:45 to 8 PM\, which means you can sit down after work and leave before the night gets away from you\, or you can stay and let it. The crowd is regulars and first-timers in roughly equal measure\, which is the mark of a room that has figured out what it is. Seven years of programming\, three nights a week\, no cover charge — just the kind of evening that reminds you why you moved to San Diego in the first place.\n\nMadison on Park\, 4622 Park Blvd. It fills\, so reserve. Three nights a week means the set you miss comes round again.
