SUMMARY:King Buffalo
DESCRIPTION:Heavy psych is usually an excuse for a jam\, and the reason this trio from Rochester built the following they have is that they treat it as composition instead — pieces that develop\, resolve\, and end when they should. They released three albums in a single pandemic year as a deliberate project\, which is the kind of thing that either destroys a band or cements one. The audience is heavily overlapping with the stoner-rock and desert-rock world but skews more patient. Live the low end is enormous and the sets build over an hour rather than resetting. Highland Park's upstairs hall\, wood floors\, high ceiling\, no barricade. Music at 8:00 PM at 104 N Avenue 56\, a Saturday. This whole corner of heavy music runs on people trading recommendations rather than on any industry\, and the rooms reflect it.
