SUMMARY:Wrabel
DESCRIPTION:Songs written at a piano about the exact thing you have not said out loud are a genre unto themselves\, and the people who need them need them badly. Wrabel spent years writing for other artists before releasing his own material\, which shows in the construction — nothing wasted\, every second chorus doing something the first did not. His audience is unusually open about what the songs have meant to them\, and the shows tend to include a lot of people crying without embarrassment\, which is a strange and good thing to be in a room for. Between-song talk is a real part of it. Highland Park's upstairs Masonic hall is intimate enough that this works rather than curdling. Music at 8:00 PM at 104 N Avenue 56\, a Sunday. Nobody comes to these alone by accident\; almost everyone brought the person they needed to bring.
