SUMMARY:strongboi – the fall tour
DESCRIPTION:Two people who were in a relationship making a record about being in that relationship\, and then continuing to tour it\, is a premise loaded enough that it would be interesting even if the songs were bad. They are not. The material is playful and specific\, pop built on odd instrumentation and vocal interplay that only works because the two voices were designed around each other. Live it is warmer and funnier than the recordings\, with a lot of talking. A Tuesday in an upstairs Masonic hall in Highland Park means a small self-selected crowd rather than a casual one. Music at 8:00 PM at 104 N Avenue 56\, the first of two nights. Projects this personal draw audiences who feel implicated by them\, which makes for an unusually attentive room.
