SUMMARY:Noel Noel — San Diego Symphony Holiday Concert at The Rady Shell
DESCRIPTION:When a brass section plays a carol outdoors in December\, the music doesn't bounce off walls and come back to you compressed. It goes out into the night air and keeps going\, mixing with the salt and the cold and the ambient hum of a city settling into the holidays. That's what Noel Noel is — the San Diego Symphony's annual holiday concert\, performed at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park where the bay sits behind the stage and the December sky sits above it.\n\nThe program is a mix of orchestral holiday arrangements\, singalong carols\, and the kind of show-stopping vocal moments that remind you why live music exists. This isn't background music at a mall. This is a full symphony orchestra playing holiday repertoire with the same intensity they bring to Beethoven\, because the music deserves it and so do you. The crowd is families\, couples\, groups who made this the anchor of their December calendar years ago and aren't stopping now.\n\nThree performances: Friday\, December 18 at 7:30 PM\, Saturday\, December 19 at 6:00 PM\, and Sunday\, December 20 at 4:30 PM. The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park\, 1245 Seventh Ave\, San Diego. Tickets through the San Diego Symphony box office.
