SUMMARY:Melvins
DESCRIPTION:Forty-plus years in\, the band that helped invent the tempo everybody else eventually slowed down to is still playing rooms with a bar along one wall.\n\nWhat gets lost in the lineage talk is how strange they actually are. The heaviness is real\, but so is the perversity — songs that refuse to arrive\, drum patterns that seem designed to irritate\, an unwillingness to ever play the obvious version of anything. Buzz Osborne has been steering this for four decades with no visible interest in being liked\, and the result is a discography most people find via somebody else insisting.\n\nSolana Beach\, which is a genuinely funny place for this to happen. Doors at seven\, music at eight.\n\nOctober 20\, Belly Up Tavern\, 143 S Cedros Ave. Bring whoever handed you the record originally. North County quietly gets a share of the loudest touring bands in the world\, largely because this one room has been booking them since the seventies.
