SUMMARY:Untamed Youth\, Thee Allyrgic Reaction\, Alvino & The Dwells
DESCRIPTION:Surf music never actually died\, it just stopped being on the radio and moved into rooms where the people playing it own more vintage amplifiers than furniture.\n\nThis is three deep in that world. Reverb-drenched instrumentals\, frat-rock covers played faster than the originals\, organ where you do not expect organ — the whole aesthetic delivered by people who have been arguing about tremolo settings for thirty years and will happily do it with you at the bar. It is also\, crucially\, dance music. Nobody stands still at these\, including the people who claim they came only to look at the gear. Expect the floor to be moving by the second song.\n\nDoors seven-thirty\, first band eight-thirty\, a Friday.\n\nOctober 16\, Casbah\, 2501 Kettner Blvd. Bring whoever thinks they do not like instrumental music. Southern California basically invented this sound and there is still a working circuit for it here\, entirely unadvertised outside its own crowd.
