SUMMARY:Emo Night Karaoke
DESCRIPTION:The difference between singing along and taking the microphone is roughly the difference between watching and being watched\, and one of those changes your whole evening.\n\nThat is the entire format. A live band\, a songbook of the records that ruined and rescued you somewhere around fifteen\, and a queue of people who have been rehearsing in the car for years without admitting it. Nobody is good. Being good is not the point and would arguably wreck it. The room's job is to carry whoever is up there\, and a room full of people who all know the same bridge is extremely good at that job.\n\nDoors at eight\, going at nine\, a Friday in February.\n\nFebruary 5\, Casbah\, 2501 Kettner Blvd. Bring the person you would want holding the other microphone. This scene runs a whole year of these across the county and the karaoke ones are where the strangers stop being strangers fastest.
