DESCRIPTION:Duranguense had a moment in the mid-2000s so total that if you were a teenager in Southeast LA then\, the tuba line is wired directly into a memory of somebody's quinceanera. Most of the acts from that wave disappeared. This one did not\, and it is fronted by two sisters who inherited the band from their father and then spent twenty years proving they were the point rather than the footnote. What makes a show like this worth a Friday is the audience: people who were sixteen when these songs ran the radio\, now bringing their own teenagers\, who are mortified for exactly four songs and then know all the words. Marisol and Vicky Teran still do the full set live with the horn section rather than tracks. The sisters took over after their father Armando stepped back\, kept the saxophone-and-tuba arrangements intact\, and have outlasted nearly every act that shared the radio with them. Friday the 9th of October\; the band takes the stage at eight sharp.
