SUMMARY:Pedro Fernandez
DESCRIPTION:Child star\, then telenovela lead\, then a ranchera singer taken seriously by people who do not take former child stars seriously\, and the arc of that is most of why a Mexican audience treats him as family rather than as an act. Ranchera done properly is close to opera in its demands - held notes\, no hiding\, mariachi behind you with nowhere to blend in - and the reason to see it seated in a theater is that you can actually hear whether the voice is still there. It is. Shows like this are where you notice that the audience sings the responses without being asked\, because these songs were learned at kitchen tables rather than from a streaming playlist. Bring a parent. He has been recording since the nineteen-seventies and still closes on the songs from that first run\, which is the part the room waits for. Thursday the 15th of October\, an eight o'clock start.
LOCATION:YouTube Theater\, 1011 Stadium Dr\, Inglewood\, CA 90305
