DESCRIPTION:The Friday after Thanksgiving has a specific flatness to it. The food is gone\, the relatives are still there\, and the day has no shape — which is exactly the gap a local psych collective decided to fill with a pun and a wall of reverb. The name is a tryptophan joke. They are not apologising for it.\n\nSan Diego Freak Out has spent years booking the city's garage and psych bands into rooms that are slightly wrong for them\, and the result is a crowd that genuinely overlaps: people who came for one band stay for the three they had never heard\, because the collective's whole premise is that the scene is the product and the lineup is just that month's evidence. Expect long intros\, a fog of pedals\, and somebody's cousin running the merch table.\n\nFive in the afternoon\, outdoors\, downtown San Diego\, the lawn open to whoever wanders in. A scene you can only find by being told about it is still being told about.
