SUMMARY:Monday Night Magic: Casual Commander — Spellbound LARP and Games\, North Hollywood
DESCRIPTION:Nobody warns you that the hardest part of this hobby is not the money or the rules. It is finding four other people who are free on the same evening.\n\nThe room helps. Spellbound is a live-action roleplay shop first\, so the card tables sit underneath racks of foam swords and coils of chainmail\, and somebody is usually being fitted for a tabard six feet from your draw step. It is difficult to take yourself too seriously in there\, which turns out to be the correct mood for a hundred-card deck built around a legendary frog.\n\nCasual is the operative word and it is load-bearing. Nobody is grinding points. Pods form from whoever looks up at the same moment\, games end because a person has work tomorrow\, and a stranger will hand you a card out of their own binder because your deck obviously needed it.\n\n11300 Magnolia Blvd. Five dollars\, Mondays\, no reservation. Come on your own — that is rather the point.
