SUMMARY:Wednesday Pauper at Legacy Comics — Glendale
DESCRIPTION:Every other corner of this game can be solved with a credit card. This one cannot\, and that is the whole appeal.\n\nPauper is built only from commons — the cards that came four-to-a-pack and got thrown in a shoebox. The most expensive thing on the table might run you a few dollars\, so nobody at this table bought their way in. What is left when you remove money from a card game turns out to be the thing people claim to love about it: somebody who has played the same cheap deck for six years will take apart a newcomer with four times the budget\, and then show them exactly how it happened.\n\nNorth Orange Street in Glendale\, a comics shop with the card room in back\, ten dollars\, Wednesdays at seven.\n\nThe barrier here is attention\, not money\, which is a harder thing to fake and a better thing to spend.
