DESCRIPTION:San Diego in the middle of December is the quiet flex of this entire state. Sixty-four degrees\, a jacket you are carrying rather than wearing\, and the rest of the country posting photographs of their windshields.\n\nQuartyard was built on a vacant downtown lot out of shipping containers and then flatly refused to behave like a temporary thing. Open air\, a beer window\, a stretch of grass where people bring dogs that are more socially confident than anybody standing there. Watching a band through that gap between the containers\, with the East Village carrying on behind them and a train going by somewhere\, is a specific kind of evening you simply cannot buy indoors.\n\nA six o'clock start means the set ends early enough to go find food afterward and argue about where.\n\nFor the friend who claims they do not really go to shows and then sings every word.\n\nDoors six at 1301 Market St\, downtown San Diego.
