DESCRIPTION:Every year the holidays end and the city just stops. Nobody is throwing anything\, the calendar goes flat for six weeks\, and the only plan anyone has is to not make one. This is the Saturday that breaks it. Seventy-odd breweries pouring in an open field at Liberty Station\, which matters more than it sounds - most of the good ones here never leave their own taproom\, so this is the rare afternoon the 30th Street crowd\, the North County crowd and the people brewing forty barrels a year all stand in the same grass. The early ticket is the one that counts. In that first hour the brewers are still behind their own tables and will talk water chemistry with anyone who asks\; by two o'clock it is volunteers pouring and the conversation is gone. Gates at noon for early entry\, 1pm general\, Preble Field\, 2455 Cushing Road. The argument over who in this county actually brews best runs year-round\, and it does not get settled here either.
