SUMMARY:Fancy Faces\, Desire 4\, Julia Bhatt
DESCRIPTION:A Monday bill for ten dollars is the local scene checking its own pulse. Nobody is touring through. Everybody on stage lives within a half-hour drive and will be at the bar afterward.\n\nFancy Faces have become one of those San Diego bands that turns up on three different bills a month and somehow never wears out the welcome. Desire 4 play something darker and more synth-forward. Julia Bhatt writes small\, funny\, deceptively sad songs that work best in a room where people are actually listening\, which a Monday guarantees in a way a Saturday never does.\n\nThe tell that you are at a real local show rather than a showcase: the bands watch each other's sets from the floor instead of hiding in the green room. Count how many musicians are standing in the crowd. It is usually most of them.\n\n21+. Doors 7:30\, first band 8:30. Ten dollars gets you all three.
