SUMMARY:Josephine Starr\, C.Gibbs\, Crime Film\, American Actor in the Razzmatazz
DESCRIPTION:A four-band bill starting at five in the afternoon on a Sunday is not a concert. It is closer to a potluck where everyone brought amplifiers.\n\nMatinee shows have quietly become the most interesting thing the Casbah does. The format forces short sets\, the bands watch each other because there is nowhere else to be\, and the audience skews toward people who have aged out of midnight but have not aged out of caring. Josephine Starr\, C.Gibbs\, Crime Film and American Actor in the Razzmatazz split the afternoon between them.\n\nTen dollars for four bands works out to roughly the cost of a coffee each. The other thing about a five o'clock show in Middletown: you walk out into daylight\, which does something disorienting and good to the end of a gig.\n\n21+. Doors 4pm\, first band 5pm. $10.
