SUMMARY:Lizzy & the Triggermen
DESCRIPTION:Big band music played by people in their thirties who are not doing a bit. That distinction takes about ninety seconds to establish live\, and then the room relaxes and starts dancing.\n\nLizzy & the Triggermen are a ten-plus-piece outfit out of Los Angeles playing original material in a 1930s idiom\, horns and all\, fronted by a vocalist who can actually carry it. The trap with this genre is pastiche\, and the reason this band fills rooms is that the songs are new. Nobody is waiting for a standard.\n\nThe Belly Up has a sprung wooden floor and a crowd that will use it\, and a ten-piece band on that stage is physically a lot of band. Get there for the sound check if they let you.\n\nDoors 6:30\, show 7:30. $25. Cedros Avenue\, Solana Beach.
LOCATION:Belly Up Tavern\, 143 S Cedros Ave\, Solana Beach\, CA 92075
