SUMMARY:Alexandra Savior (Night 2)
DESCRIPTION:Night two of a two-night run is the one to go to\, and everyone who books rooms this size knows it. The nerves are gone\, the band has stopped being careful\, and the setlist usually bends because somebody shouted for something the night before. Her songs sound like they were written for a film that was never made - all late-sixties menace and a narrator you would not entirely trust. In a small room on York Boulevard\, that register stops being a style and turns into something closer to eavesdropping. Expect a quiet crowd\, which is its own kind of compliment. Night one tends to sell first\, so this is often the ticket still sitting there when somebody finally makes up their mind. Eight on Saturday\, around $39. Highland Park keeps building rooms exactly this size\, and the people who follow them have strong opinions about which has the better sound.
