DESCRIPTION:An anime opening can remake a band's career in a single season\, and when it happens the live show becomes two audiences in one room: the people who followed them for fifteen years and the people who heard ninety seconds over a title sequence and went looking. This is reggae welded to metal\, which should not work and has worked for two decades\, and the Japanese hardcore scene they came out of is considerably heavier than the one song suggests. Expect a crowd split between anime shirts and band shirts\, and expect both halves to lose it at the same moment. Their sets lean hard on the heavy end of the catalogue rather than the one song everybody arrived for\, which is the opposite of what half the room expects and is the better decision. Half six on Sunday on South Hill Street downtown. There is a steady stream of Japanese heavy bands routing through Los Angeles now because the anime audience made the market\, and most of them play rooms this size.
