SUMMARY:Dilated Peoples
DESCRIPTION:Before every rapper in this city had a podcast\, there was a stretch where Los Angeles hip-hop split into the stuff on the radio and the stuff traded on cassette at Fairfax\, and the second category is where this group lived and stayed. Two emcees and a DJ who is genuinely one of the best to ever do it on a turntable\, which matters live in a way it does not on a record - there is an actual person making those cuts\, in front of you\, and watching the hands is half the show. The crowd will be older and will know the second verses. Expect a merch table of twenty-year-old designs being bought by people who owned them the first time. Seven on Wednesday on South Hill Street downtown. There is a whole living LA rap underground that never left\, playing rooms like this one most months\, and the people here can name all of it.
