SUMMARY:Robby Hoffman: Live On Tour
DESCRIPTION:Four shows across one weekend in a single city is a thing comedians do not get to book unless the demand is already there\, and it tells you more about where this audience is than any amount of press would. The delivery is flat\, fast and entirely without apology\, built out of a very specific upbringing and an unwillingness to soften any of it for a room. The jokes work because nothing is being performed at you - there is no persona layered on top\, which is rarer in stand-up than it sounds and is why people who like this tend to like it immoderately. A theatre rather than a club\, so no two-drink minimum and no table of people talking behind you. Six on Saturday on University Avenue. San Diego gets passed over on a lot of comedy routing\, and the people who track which tours actually stop here have a short and well-guarded list.
